A Humble Beginning

Shyam Singh Yadav's journey from a remote village in Jaunpur district, one of the most backward regions of Uttar Pradesh, to being the people's representative at the biggest Panchayat of the country is a tale which is truly inspiring and motivating. He was born into a family with limited means and a modest neighbourhood. But, as a young individual he always had big dreams. Despite the challenges, Yadav possessed an unyielding determination to break free from their circumstances and build a better life. He transcended his humble beginnings and embarked on an arduous yet exhilarating journey from poverty to becoming a people’s representative.

Power of Education

Recognizing the significance of education, Yadav immersed himself in studies very early in his life. He excelled academically, earning accolades that would help him secure an admission in the prestigious Allahabad University. Education became a stepping stone that would pave the way for his success

Embracing Opportunities and Discovering Talents

At the Allahabad University, Shyam Singh Yadav was exposed to a world of opportunities. He engaged in extracurricular activities, always striving to broaden his horizons and gain valuable experiences. Networking played a crucial role in opening doors to new prospects. It was here Yadav discovered his talent and passions. Whether it was sports or public speaking, he embraced these gifts and invested time in honing his skills. His dedication and love for his craft became apparent, setting the stage for his future.

Breaking Into Civil Services

Upon graduating, Yadav through sheer determination cracked the prestigious state civil services examination in 1982. Steadily, he began to rise through the ranks. His talent caught the attention of his seniors and he started to gain recognition for his work. Amidst all this, he never forgot his roots. Giving back to the community became an integral part of his identity

The Political Breakthrough

His remarkable works over the years caught the attention of several political parties He was given a ticket to contest the General Elections to Lok Sabha in 2019 by Mahaganthbandhan alliance. He emerged victorious over the sitting MP by a comfortable margin despite great odds. This solidified his place in the hearts of the people of his constituency.

The journey was not without hurdles. The pressure of media scrutiny, fame and public expectations has presented a new set of challenges. However, Yadav’s resilience and grounded nature has helped him navigate these obstacles, ensuring he stayed true to himself amidst the glitz and glamour. Yadav’s story is an inspiration to millions. He has proven that with unwavering determination, perseverance, and a genuine passion for one's dreams, anyone could overcome adversity and achieve greatness.

As a Player

In a world teeming with diverse interests, few experiences can match the universal thrill and camaraderie that sports bring. Shyam Singh Yadav was passionate about sports right from his childhood days. He excelled in athletics, volleyball, badminton, cricket and hockey. He even participated in Himalayan Car Rally in 1987. But, it was his unwavering love for the sport of Shooting that has really stood out. Yadav is still an active sportsman. He is the only shooter in India to have renowned shot status in all the disciplines of shooting. He has won numerous medals at national level and represented the country at international level as well.

As a Coach

He was the coach of the Indian Shooting Team at Beijing Olympics 2008 when India won its first individual gold at Olympics in any sport in shooting. He was awarded with the highest sporting honour of the state of Uttar Pradesh, the Laxman Award, in 2001 for his remarkable achievements in sports. Further, Yadav has also worked as technical official in shooting competitions as he has completed I.S.S.F Judges ‘B’ course.

As an Administrator

Shyam Singh Yadav is currently the President of the Uttar Pradesh State Rifle Association and Vice-President of the Uttar Pradesh Olympic Association. He has also previously held the post of the treasurer in the National Rifle Association of India. Over the years, as a sports administrator, Yadav has taken numerous initiatives to establish shooting ranges in various parts of the state and also empowering young athletes to strive for greatness, turning dreams into reality, and inspiring the next generation to pursue their sporting ambitions.

Asked more than 180 questions from different ministries of the Government on various burning issues.

Participated in more than 50 debates in Lok Sabha and raised matters of urgent importance.

Introduced 5 Private Member Bills.

98% attendance in Lok Sabha after 4 years.

Got sanctioned 17 roads covering 114.5 Kms. under Gram Sadak Yojana. Total cost- Rs. 85,39,00,000/-

Establishment of National Level Shooting Range at English Club Jaunpur. Total cost- Rs. 80,00,000/-

Implementation of National Train Enquiry System (NTES) for display of train coach position at Jaunpur Junction and Jaunpur City railway stations.

Got sanctioned medical funds for 138 people suffering from various critical illnesses under National Relief Fund. Total money sanctioned- Rs. 2,15,00,000/-

Established 180 LPM capacity Oxygen Plant in District Hospital Jaunpur. Total cost- Rs. 42,00,000/-

Modernization of Jaunpur City, Jaunpur Junction, Jaffarabad, Shahganj, Mungra Badshahpur railway stations. Funds were allocated for modernization of these stations in Budget 2023.

Construction of 16 Passenger Sheds @ Rs. 7.70 Lakh per shed. Total cost- Rs. 1,23,00,000/-

Establishment of Health ATMs at 6 Community Health Centres at Badlapur, Baksha, Sujanganj, Khutahan, Suithakala, Mungra Badshahpur @Rs. 4.693 lakh per piece. Total cost-Rs. 28,00,000/-

Installation of 2207 Solar Street Lights. Total cost-Rs. 3,88,00,000/-

Installation of RO with Water Cooler in 100 schools through CSR fund. Total cost-Rs. 1,00,00,000/-

Provision of 1 High Mast Street Light, 1 RO Water Cooler, 1 Sun Shade, One 4-seater Chair Set in Nadiyapar, Kolhua. Total cost-Rs. 19,00,000/-

Got sanctioned 10 Solar Street Lights for 4 market places under Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay Yojana:
a) Chabbilepur Molnapur Bazaar;
b) Lala Bazaar;
c) Biwiganj Bazaar (Shahganj Block);
